As a mother, it’s important for me to capture the small details in life. Each of the small details is what makes up the story – the story of my little girls. The details tell me where they are in their journey. The details are what change. The details are the small things that make them into amazing human beings.
Like the way her wisps of hair fly about to catch the falling snow. Or the way her eyelashes clump together after playing in the cold, long after I am ready to go inside.
The way she crouches down to pour over her book catalogue from preschool – for the 800th time.
How her soother takes up almost of all her face, but somehow she still finds comfort in it. Years from now I hope I can remember the sounds she makes just as she’s falling asleep sucking on that soother.
And those little baby fists that are clenched so tight, but will open up long enough to grab onto a finger and not let go.
To carry on the circle please visit Jessica’s blog.
Each month I participate in a blog circle with a group of photographers from around the world who celebrate and document what Motherhood Is to them. You can catch up on all of my Motherhood Is posts here.
