I was in the change room this past week and to my left was a stack of 17 pairs of one-leg-inside-out jeans. Every single pair had been angrily tried on my body and then with an irritated huff, I ripped them off and aggressively hucked them in the corner (after I had to step on the free leg as one leg wouldn’t come off my ankle – you feel me, right?). I was sweating and swearing – it wasn’t pretty.
Too baggy. Too high (why must jeans touch boobs now?). Saggy bum. Wedgie bum. Too tight. Too short. Too ripped.
All I want is to find a damn pair of jeans that fit and don’t feel like they’re breaking me in half when I sit down. Ones I want to pull out of my closet over and over again? Ones that feel like pyjamas but don’t look like them? Is it too much to ask? (Apparently!)
Now….bear with me here as I’m going to attempt to compare jeans to photos (it’s a stretch, I know – btw, jeans no longer seem to have stretch).
Putting on your ‘good clothes’, washing your kids’ faces, showing up in a field and allowing someone to capture the real you in photos is stressful. Perhaps as stressful as trying on bathing suits or jeans?
It can take a lot of trial and error to find the right fit.
The photographer who can interact with your family, make things fun AND produce stellar photos. The photographer who keeps you calm and feeling confident (instead of swearing and sweating in the change-room!).
But, when you find the ONE, daaaaaaaamn, it’s good. So good that you just want to buy that same pair of jeans over and over again (and make sure they never touch the dryer).
(Ok, Kelly, let’s wrap up this ridiculous comparison. 🙄)

My husband graduated this year from his program and I wanted to be able to take some pictures of him and our family in his cap and gown. I noticed you are specific in location. Are you flexible with location? I was thinking Legislative grounds or something a little more stone less artsy? Please advise. AND does your price change with location? Thank you
