It’s a special challenge to win over people who say they don’t like having their photo taken. I’m determined to prove that it doesn’t have to be painful, boring or full of fake smiles. No, no, no. I never ask anyone during a newborn or family session to look into my lens and smile or to sit in a position that isn’t comfortable. Instead, I really want you to look back at your photos, recognize yourself, and remember that it was a pretty cool morning. That when I walked in, you had time to finish your breakfast and even make another cup of tea – there is no rushing or schedule that we have to follow. And while you do finish that toast, I’ll hang out with your baby and take some portraits of her, so that you can remember how flaky her feet once were and how she used to fit on one couch cushion.
After viewing the full gallery and slideshow, Daphne’s mama left me this words about the session: “My fiancée is not a picture kind of guy and is not the most impressed with professional photography. After we got our images back, he was so happy with them that he even agreed to another mini session when our daughter is one! Thank you for the gorgeous shots Kelly and making me and Nick so comfortable in our home. We can’t wait for our next session.”
This session took place in such a cute little house in North Edmonton that had been renovated and decorated just so beautifully when Daphne was 2 weeks old.
