To carry on the circle this month, please visit Eva’s blog.
As your child grows up and becomes more of a little person instead of a baby, you tend to forget how many milestones babies reach in their first year. At least I did. It truly is amazing that within one year, they go from being a little baby blob who stays in one place and sleeps through the craziest things, to a little person who is climbing and walking, and is able to express their likes and dislikes. It’s astounding really.
Maybe it’s because I am pretty sure she is my last baby, or maybe it’s because I feel like the world is spinning way too fast some days, but I find myself treasuring each and every milestone that Willa reaches. I’m not ready for her to move on to the next thing. It’s strange really, because I am not usually one to get too mushy about moving on. I love conquering new things and seeing my kids do the same. With each milestone though, I find myself wanting to rewind that clock just a little bit so that I can truly appreciate what a big deal her little things are.
I’m glad I have my camera out every day so that I am able to capture each little skill that she masters. In the span of 6 weeks she has gone from being able to lift her legs, to rolling over (and getting stuck!), to grabbing her toes, to starting solids. Her little brain and body are working overtime to help her develop into the amazing little person that she is.
Each month I participate in a blog circle with a group of photographers from around the world who celebrate and document what Motherhood Is to them. You can catch up on all of my Motherhood Is posts here.
