fiddle leaf photography
Oct 23, 2017
I came home from my appointments this morning and my husband had ripped out our 80s sunshine ceiling in the kitchen.
It all of a sudden hit me like a tonne of bricks that we are actually going to do this – live without a proper kitchen for months while we reno the last untouched part of our house.
And then I started looking through my gazillion photos and I’m now teary at seeing all the moments we’ve had as a family under those horrible fluorescent lights.
I’ve taught little girls to crack eggs, we’ve made playdough, bathed bare bums in the sink, planned out business moves, learned to hold a pencil and print, eaten milestone birthday cakes, washed Barbie hair, carved pumpkins, and danced (so much dancing).
And although I can’t wait for the new, letting go of the old is harder than I ever thought it’d be.
This, my friends, is why all I want to do for the rest of my life is take photos in homes. Because they are so much more than walls and floors.
Want to capture your life in your home – no matter what state it’s currently in? Send me a note and we’ll chat about how to make it happen.
