Before I was a parent I never thought I’d oooh and ahhh over kid products. Really. Who does that?

Well, I do! It’s amazing how a really well designed and well made product can make your life as a parent so much easier. If you have kids of your own, then you know that sometimes we have to take our wins with the small things, and if these products can solve one tiny problem in the grand scheme of things, then I consider it a win!

My girls are 6 and 3, so my favourite kid products right now are mostly from the late toddler years. I’ve used all of these products myself and can personally vouch for their quality.

This series was originally done on Instagram Stories and I’ve combined multiple videos into one, which is why there are breaks (IG stories only allows 15 second clips) and why each day looks a bit different. It’s a little glimpse into my real life – gym clothes and all!

• iGuy iPad case by Speck. We’ve been through a lot of iPad cases and this is by far our favourite. It has lasted way longer than I thought it would and is super easy for the kids to carry, so they hardly drop the iPad (and when they do the foam protects it).
• Training pants by KicKee Pants. These are quite possibly the softest, cutest potty training underwear around. They have extra padding in them and wash so well without fading.
• Boon Frog Pod. Such an awesome tool to hold all the little bath toys, which lets them dry and not get all scummy. It sticks onto the tub surround with a couple of sticky pads that have lasted us years.
• Paper bag toy storage bags. I ordered our toy bags from a store that I now can’t remember (and can’t find), but have found them since at Westcoast Kids or directly from Tellkiddo. We use our bags to store all the small toys like ponies, Happy Meal toys, doctor kits, etc, etc. When they aren’t full they can be shoved in closets or folded down. I also love that they’re easy for the kids to grab and drag, as they often struggle with moving larger plastic bins.
• Tangle Teezer wet brush. Hair was a constant struggle in our house that often resulted in tears no matter how gentle I attempted to do it. That was until I bought a Tangle Teezer after a haircut at Beaners. It felt like a bit of a splurge at the time, but was such a great investment as it has eliminated so much of the fight around hair. The little silicone bristles somehow manage to get through the hair without pulling, which makes this mama very happy. You can buy the brushes at many salons or online from various retailers.
