Often one of the most honest ways I can find to tell a story of love and connection is through the hands. Without the person even knowing they are doing it, their hands can show tenderness, concern, admiration and energy. The best part is that often the people I’m photographing don’t even know that I’m focusing on their hands, so any weird tension is automatically removed and natural reactions are abundant.

Hands are able to tell a whole life story without even showing the whole person. They show experience and age, and are one of my absolute favourite ways to juxtapose age in a really nuanced, subtle way.
