I sometimes feel like a broken record, but let me go ahead and say it one more time.
Photo sessions don’t have to be stressful.
Photo sessions can be F-U-N.
One way to make them not stressful and fun? To have an activity planned.
Ok, before you freak out on me and say, “Kelly! I work full time. I have kids. I am barely going to manage to get everyone in coordinated clothes and scrub the sharpie off the wall – never mind plan a freaking photo-worthy activity!”, just breathe, ok?
I’ve got you.
Activities DO NOT NEED TO BE COMPLICATED.
It’s much more about finding something you love to do together as a family and then having fun with it.
To make life even easier, I’ve compiled 3 quick activities that’ll let you support local #yeg business AND have amazingly beautiful and fun photos.
Although I can totally get behind flying flour and wooden-spoon licking, sometimes you just want the softest, yummiest, ooey-gooey cookie without any of the mess. This is where the take + bake cookies from Duchess come in!
Heat up the oven and toss the cookies in! 20 minutes later, gather your family around the table with cold glasses of milk and warm cookies to chat and play a board game.
You do not have time to scroll Pinterest for easy craft ideas, nor do you have the time to visit multiple stores to buy all of the supplies. Luckily, there’s a solution! Alie at Creation Space makes the most amazing at-home art kits. All you have to do is order your kit online and pick it up.
Then, get everyone around the kitchen table, bring out the kit and craft away. There will be messy fingers, wondrous smiles and delightful kid artwork.
Hand up if your kids are already bugging you about Easter stuff? We went to the grocery store last week (my daughter’s first time in nearly a year!) and she must have asked me 96 times if we could buy chocolate 🐰 and baskets and that crinkly plastic basket filler. They look forward to egg hunting more than Christmas.
Your kids too?
Head to Jacek Chocolate and buy some of the most gorgeous (and delicious!) chocolates around for your egg hunt.
Let me come on over and capture your family’s egg hunt. The excitement, the smiles, the chocolatey faces. And then, after the sugar hits, we can head outside and play in the yard or start your garden seeds.
Or! Let’s do an egg hunt and then dye and colour some eggs.
Into the Easter idea? You’re in luck as I have 1 day (April 3 afternoon) open for an in-home photo session 📸 over Easter weekend. It’s going to go fast. Shoot me a message and it can be yours!
