For the last few weeks, I’ve been popping on Instagram daily talking about all sorts of random topics. Never in my life did I think I’d be showing you the inside of my fridge, my hair routine, or my top knot trick, but these are weird times, and so they call for weird Instagram stories.
Over the last year, I have been posting the books I’ve been reading on Instagram, and those are always my most popular stories. You like books as much as me! Then, in one of the Stories last week, I was talking about my favourite books from the past few weeks and an idea started brewing.
In my (basically non-existent) spare time since then, I’ve been putting the wheels into motion to start The Fiddle Leaf ONLINE Bookclub.
I actually had an idea a while ago to start an in-person book club for past clients (because I think all of my clients would get along great!), but since that can’t happen with the current world situation, I’m starting an online club – and it’s open to EVERYONE, not just my clients.
Here’s how it’ll work:
The last week of each month I’ll announce a book for the following month.
You can buy the book or find it online at your library.
Then, throughout the month, you’ll read it.
At the end of the month, we’ll all grab a glass of wine (you know we’ll need wine x1000 by the end of next month!!!) and discuss it in our very own Facebook group (I caved and created a Facebook group even though I loathe Facebook!).
I’ll also pop on Instagram Live near the end of the month and discuss the book there.
Repeat for the next month. So on and so on.
This is not about discussing a book like we used to have to do in English class. It’s about doing something together as a community, being lighthearted, and trying to find enough time away from our kids to actually read something other than board books.
As I want to be able to read the book along with you, I’ll be doing my very best (by reading hundreds of reviews) to choose books that will have universal themes and will be fairly light reads (as I think we could all use that right now!)
This book has really great reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, so fingers crossed it’s a good one. It’s a love story that spans years (if you’ve heard me talk about books you know I love a story that spans years!).
You can get it from Book Outlet for a super discount (Canadian link & US link), Indigo and Amazon (Canadian Link and US link). It’s also available on kindle and audible.
GET THE BOOK.
START READING
I’m super excited to read along with you!
Hang in there friend!
Virtual hugs,
